Taylors, SC Kitchen Remodel

Project Overview

When the homeowners first reached out, they were just kicking around ideas for a remodel—no rush, just exploring possibilities. Then disaster struck. A sudden water leak swept through, ruining all the lower cabinets and wiping out the hardwood floors in one go. Talk about a plot twist.

Since the emergency cleanup had to happen fast, we never got those coveted “before” photos—so you’ll have to trust us when we say it was a mess.

With the damage done, it was time for a fresh start. We mapped out a remodel that mixed smart budget choices with just enough high-end touches to make the space feel special, without blowing the bank.

The new cabinets and granite countertops came from Lowes, and we laid down LVP flooring in both the kitchen and dining room—a practical, good-looking solution that’ll stand up to just about anything. For the backsplash, we got creative and used LVP there, too. It turned out to be both affordable and surprisingly sharp.

One of the biggest changes? We tore out a cramped, awkward pantry closet that sat between the kitchen and dining room. By removing the closet and the wall, then adding a support beam, we opened up the whole layout. The result: a kitchen that finally feels as open and welcoming as the rest of the home.
